Our 10,000-square-foot warehouse serves as a hub where dozens of hyperlocal organizations shop for bulk food and produce to operate their pantry and meal programs. BFN provides safe storage and a convenient location for a variety of no-cost nutritious foods from Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) and our recovered food partners. Through our Redistribution Program, we are supporting a vast network of food assistance programs in Northern Alameda County that together serve more than 3,500 community members a week.
We are proud to be ACCFB’s first Redistribution Organization (RDO) and the first urban RDO in the country!
We believe frontline food assistance organizations are best positioned to serve the communities where they have forged deep connections. By strengthening other local food assistance agencies, we foreground the trust and knowledge they have built with their communities and work together to fight food insecurity county-wide.

Is your organization interested in getting food from BFN?
We partner with 501c3 non-profit organizations (or those that are fiscally sponsored), schools, and faith-based organizations. Organizations must be well-equipped and organized to pick up food from us, distribute it with proper safety and training, and provide BFN feedback on how the distribution went. If your organization is interested in receiving food from Berkeley Food Network, please email us at partners@berkeleyfoodnetwork.org.
“Instead of sitting behind a computer to order, I get to hand select what I want to feed our community. The produce is different every day, but the quality is always the same.”
-Phil, Community Meal Program Manager at Dorothy Day House
